Premises and Facilities Manager

 

Contract type: 37 hours per week, full year, permanent

Hours are split shifts:

07.00-10.00 and 14.00-18.30 Mon-Thu

07.00-10.00 and 14.30-18.30 on a Friday

(hours of split shifts could be discussed with shortlisted candidates)

 

Location: Based at Meadowbank Primary School

(Some travel to other schools may be required)

 

Salary: NJC Scale 5 Points 12 – 17 (£24,496 - £26,845 pa)

(There are also opportunities for overtime at the appropriate rate of pay).

 

Holiday Entitlement:  24 days per annum, rising to 26 days after 5 years’ service plus bank holidays

The children, staff and governors at Meadowbank Primary School are looking for an exceptional Premises and Facilities Manager who will help keep our school site well maintained, safe and secure.

Meadowbank Primary is part of the Education Learning Trust and as such, there will be opportunities to work and train with the wider site management teams across the Trust.  This role is based at Meadowbank; however, there may be a requirement to cover work at other schools across the Trust in the Stockport area, from time to time.  

We welcome applications from candidates who have demonstrable experience in maintaining and cleaning a large site, with a good knowledge of health and safety and safeguarding requirements. You will have the appropriate skills and experience to undertake minor repairs, maintain the school buildings and ensure the safety of the site.

You will be confident working with a wide range of people and be competent in the use of IT to place orders and manage records. In addition, you must be able to effectively prioritise the varying demands of the school site to ensure that issues are dealt with effectively.

You will also have experience of managing a building and premises budget and be able to liaise with Senior Leaders about key priorities and projects.

In addition, the Premises and Facilities Manager will be the premises key holder ensuring the school environment is secure, responsible for the unlocking and locking of premises. You will attend alarm call outs out of normal hours where necessary, paid as overtime. You will also be responsible for preparing the school premises for out of school activities and overseeing external contractors.

You will be part of the school’s Health and Safety Team and report to the Governing Board termly on Site developments.  Maintenance and safety of the site will be your responsibility in agreement with the Headteacher and carrying out regular inspections.

We are looking for a team player who will carry out an active role in supporting and monitoring our cleaning team, ensuring quality and standards are maintained, including helping with cleaning duties when required.
