This week the children have had the most amazing experiences learning outside in the snow! They enjoyed investigating the changes in their environment and braved the cold to conduct lots of experiments!

First, they set to work collecting natural materials which they left in water overnight and discussed their predictions of what would happen, the next day they were so excited to go outside and see if their guess had been right and the objects had been frozen in the water!

The children also experimented with mixing colours and enjoyed painting in the snow! They used lots of different colours and enjoyed mixing them together in the snow and seeing what colours they could create using the pipettes and paint brushes. They ended up with very colourful snowy patterns!

There have also been lots of physical development opportunities the children have loved, they couldn’t wait to put on their wet suits and make snow angels and have loved rolling the snow and making snowmen of many different shapes and sizes!
