On behalf of all of our staff Governors and children I would like to welcome you to Meadowbank Primary School. Our school is a very special place, I love each day here and have since 2005 when I joined as Headteacher. The children and adults that I am lucky enough to spend my days with are a constant inspiration and it is a privilege to learn alongside them.
I never tire of watching our pupils grow in confidence and support of each other. There is a great energy across school which comes from children and adults alike, based upon a shared view that learning together is an adventure, an ethos that is fostered by adults across school who are dedicated to nurturing every young person in their care. Our children only have one childhood and we know that our role is to provide a learning environment in which each is happy and secure and enables them to gain the skills, knowledge and resilience to achieve for their future. We understand that the best way to learn is through creativity and enjoyment, enabling our vision of everyone to Flourish and Inspire to become a reality.
Our children know that Meadowbank Primary is their school to lead, and our role as adults is to help them build their school into the future. They have decided that it is their mission for everyone in our school family to be Lifelong Learners, Leaders of Change and to have a Lasting Legacy. Through the curriculum which they design in collaboration with their teachers and the sharing of each individual’s talents and interests our children enable their mission to live through every aspect of school life. This leadership of their own learning leads to a love of gaining new knowledge which extends beyond Meadowbank to growing passions, achievements and successes.
We value highly our partnerships with parents and guardians and understand the shared role that we have in supporting children to achieve, truly flourish and be an inspiration to others. Our parents know that each child is recognised as an individual and their journey with us is bespoke to each child’s uniqueness. As a parent myself I understand the importance for home and school to have a shared view of children’s learning experiences so that school can evolve and grow alongside its children and families.
We are a proud member of the Education Learning Trust, a group of academies who have joined together through shared commitments to children leading learning, and research based adult professional development through collaborations and reflective practice.
If the vision of all learners being enabled to Flourish and Inspire and our philosophies of learning match the learning approach that they would like for your child, please come and visit us. I look forward to showing you our school and saying 'Welcome to Meadowbank, come and meet our amazing children'.
