Our Reading Culture

Our English curriculum is designed to immerse the children within rich discussion, literature and a wealth of purposeful writing opportunities.

Teacher’s carefully plan for the half termly big questions to support children’s learning across foundation subjects , while considering how best to deepen this understanding through meaningful book studies and purposeful genre choices within our English curriculum. These texts, which include fiction, non-fiction and poetry, are used to both inspire writing and to support children to retrieve and remember more powerful knowledge.

Teacher are highly skilled in utilising these chosen texts to ensure learning in aspirational and engaging.
